APRIL CHAPTER MEETING - APRIL 12, 2011

“Designing School 2.0: Agile Learners, Shifting Futures”

Christian Long - Be Playful Design

The "Designing School 2.0: Agile Learners, Shifting Futures" session will offer a guided exploration through ideas, issues and questions concerning the relationship between 21st century education trends and the spaces in which learning takes place.

With an eye on emerging trends in technology and the shifting nature of the learner in the years to come, we will consider the implications for what a 21st Century learning environment looks like and how it can empower learners in the process. Attendees will also consider how schools can respond to the role of emerging technology while supporting students and teachers doing authentic work that is relevant in the today’s society in real time.

Note: The use of School 2.0 plays off of the idea of the evolving nature of the Internet from a static, top-down information resource to a shifting, two-way 'conversational' environment known as Web 2.0.
