The first step in getting back to the basics of practicing architecture is making sure that there are projects to work on. Proposals and presentations are the tools necessary to win the projects that our firms need to sustain themselves and ultimately grow. But have we prepared so many in the pursuit of our next project that we’ve closed our minds to what these proposals and presentations could become. T ake this opportunity join SMPS President Patrick Robbins, Brett Neff and Jennifer Wahl to review the fundamental basics of what is needed in these essential components of business and explore the possibilities of what could be.



Domenic A. Ferrante Named Partner at Harris/Day Architecture
Jeff Day, president of Harris/Day Architecture is proud to announce that Domenic A. Ferrante, AIA, LEED AP, has been named the firms newest Partner. The Perry High School graduate earned his degree in Architecture from Kent State University before starting his career with H/D in 1998. Domenic has been an integral part of Harris/Days success over the last couple of years, said Day. He added, His project management style, as well as his enthusiasm regarding sustainable design and green architecture - an important initiative of the firm - are leadership qualities were looking for as we plan the future of the firm and building its book of business. Domenics design and project management focus has been in the firms education (both K-12 and college/university) and municipal market. His project experience includes: K-12 Jackson High School additions and renovations Canton City Schools - new elementaries (Worley and Gibbs) Perry Local Schools - multiple projects Higher Education Stark State College - Automotive Technology Center North Central State College - Kehoe Center renovation As Partner, Domenic will continue to focus on K-12 education and public sector work (MRDD, libraries, municipal). In addition he will be responsible for expanding and growing the firms higher education and LEED markets, as its knowledge leader for LEED green buildings. Currently H/D is designing three LEED Silver buildings in which Domenic is involved. Domenic and his wife Christine are the proud parents of Olivia and Christian. The Ferrantes reside in Jackson Township.
